My Mexican getaway (stepping out of my comfort zone)

Hello beauties!!!!

I was super excited for today’s post because it was another conquered milestone for me. About a week ago I went to celebrate with a friend who was getting married in Cabo, and it was such a memorable weekend. First let me remind everyone that I suffer from a chronic anxiety disorder, so flying for me is a scary thing. I went to Bahamas in May but the flight was only 2 hours, so I wasn’t that scared. I was having major anxiety not only because the flight was longer but also because of some of the things people were saying about Mexico. My boyfriend was supposed to go with me, ended not being able to go so I took that as a sign that I should not. I prayed about it and ask God to just remove all fear from me and allow me to have a good time. I am so glad I went because I  had an awesome weekend;  I stepped out of my comfort zone, and even conquered my fear of height by zip lining.

I have been working hard on my body over the last few months. I want to be a healthier me, so I have literally been on a strict diet. So going to mexico I wanted to really show off my body, step out of my comfort zone and really embrace my body. I shopped at some budget friendly sites, but still managed to get some cute pieces. I wanted to show that you don’t always have to spend hundreds to look great, its all about how you wear the clothes and your confidence.

Sherbet Bikini: Icon Boutique (here)

I found this Instagram boutique called Icon boutique and fell in love with this piece. I was Looking for a pop of color and this bikini was the perfect fit for me. It’s originally $20, but I got a discount code and ended up paying only $15.

Wrap Beach dress: Sheinside (here)

Sheinside is my guilty little pleasure. If you are someone on a budget, you really need to check their site out. Had this vision in my head of myself running on the beach and have the wind blow through my hair and looking like a beach Goddess. This cover up did that and more!!!

Laser cut bathing suite: Sheinside(here)
Lipgloss: colourpop cosmetics (here)

Can we talk about this one piece bathing suit??? I bought this one as my least favorite one because it was black and plain. Then I put it on and my mouth dropped to the floor. For the price that I paid this bathing suit gave me all the life I needed. it complimented my body so well, it ended up my favorite look of the weekend.

I went to mexico to attend a friend’s wedding so I wanted to look great and still be comfortable. Although it’s super hot and humid, I still wanted to look classy and dress up a little so this little number was a winner. Since I had braids I wanted to wear this cute headpiece just to add a little something to my hairstyle.

I really do hope this post inspires you beyond just the pictures, but to go out there and step outside your comfort zone. Never in a million years did I ever think one day I would have the courage to not only be so comfortable in my body, but to share my life with the world. I am trying to get back the years I’ve wasted hating who I was and how I looked.  Embrace who you are, love who you are and don’t ever feel sorry for doing so.

(s/o to my friend Franceska for being a great sport and capturing all my moments)

XOXO

The Estee Edit Voxbox Review

Hello beauties, it’s been such a long time. I have been super busy with work, and starting the semester. I am back with a review for the Estee Edit Voxbox I received from Influenster a few months back. I have been using the products and have gotten a feel for them, so I wanted to come and share my honest opinion about them.

This is what the box looked like when I received it

I received 4 products from them. The Pore vanishing stick, the Beam Team hydrate and glow, the Barrest lip color, and the Flash Illuminator.

The Pore Vanishing Stick

  • The  Pore Vanishing stick did not do it for me at all to be honest. I have tried it on several occasion and it honestly doesn’t hide my pores . I must say that I like the benefit Pore Professional way better than this one. It applies smoothly and doesn’t feel sticky, however I wouldn’t say its the best at hiding my pores.

Flash Illuminator

  • I am so in love with this product. I believe the flash illuminator is meant to be worn under your foundation to give you that ultimate glow; However the shade they sent me was too light for my complexion. So what I did was mix it with my body lotion and OMG I fell in love. It leaves my skin looking so radiant and glowy. During the summer time we all want our skin to just beam and glow, and this product did just that. I am probably going to purchase one of a darker shade and try it under my foundation.

  • The Lipstick is one of the best nudes for WOC. The color is absolutely beautiful, it glides on so smoothly and it is so creamy. This has been my go to lipstick this summer. It’s a great color if you’re going to work and want to wear something on your lips but not too bright.

  • The Hydrate+Glow Beam team is my favorite out of all the products they sent me. I have no words to explain this product but the word AMAZING!!!! I don’t wear makeup to work but I love to have a fresh and glowy face in the morning. This product does just that. After I moisturize I apply it to my face and I look awake, My face looks so healthy. When I do wear makeup to go out, I apply this underneath my foundation and it does a great job at giving me a dewey/Glowy look. I highly recommend this product.

Please comment below and let me know if you have any of these products, and how they are working out for you. keep in mind what works for me might not for you, and what doesn’t for me might for you.
